This page is a typical style sheet for basic Article Editing on the Animaniacs Wiki. It also contains some article layouts for a variety of topics, including episodes, characters, and more.
Base Grammar
- When organizing alphabetically: numbers should be placed before the alphabet. Ex: 102, 103, Apple, Banana, etc.
- Punctuation should be placed inside of the quotations. Ex: "Yes." (correct) vs "Yes". (no)
- Exception: Quotations can be inside of parenthases. ("Taming of the Screwy")
- Titles that should be italicized: Book titles (DeZanitized), Film titles (Wakko's Wish), Television titles (Animaniacs).
- Titles that should be in quotations: Episode titles ("Taming of the Screwy"), Song titles ("Yakko's Universe").
Training Grounds
See Sandbox.
Regarding Possible Scenarios
See Possible Scenarios and How to Handle Them.
Link to a Specific Section in an Article
To link to a specific section in an article, use the "#" tool as outlined here: Episode 1 (Reboot): Jurassic Lark/Suspended Animation Part One/Of Mice and Memes/Suspended Animation Part Two#Jurassic Lark|Jurassic Lark
Alternatively, we have redirects that link to specific article sections, which is especially useful for episodes with multiple cartoons. Examples: "Jurassic Lark", "Clown and Out", and "You Said a Mouseful"
Important Templates
Wikipedia Template
Rather than pasting the full link to a Wikipedia article, we have a template that simplifies the process: {{w}}. Follow this format to use it: {{w|article name}}. It also works for linking to article sections (for example:{{w|article name#section}}. Of course, you can also rename the links with this format: {{w|article name#section|new name}}.
Inter-Wiki Links
Follow this format: [[w:c:wikinamefromurl:Article Title|Label]].
Example: [[w:c:looneytunes:Draftee Daffy|Draftee Daffy]].
Adding a "Notes" Section
- The "Notes" section uses a format similar to the "References" section, but is strictly for in-text citations on the articles.
Example: Episode Guide (original Animaniacs)#Notes
Note citation examples: <ref group="note">Ex</ref> <ref group="note"; name="insertnamehere">Ex</ref> (To label a specific note) <ref group="note"; name="insertnamehere"/> (To repeat a specific note multiple times) ==Notes== <references group="note"/>
Character Structures
- Please Note: If there is nothing to put in a section (aka: no images are currently on the wiki for the character you are editing, so a gallery would be useless), simply omit it. The gallery section in the infobox is to show alternate designs for a character (such as original series and reboot); but not necessarily different outfits that they wear in one episode (two exceptions are Thaddeus Plotz, as his "Judge Plotz" outfit marks his only physical speaking appearance in the reboot; and Gigi Soda, whose different outfits/personas are a plot point of her arc in "Soda-pressed"). In addition, article sections for miscellaneous things (such as "Outfits") are not needed (except for Chicken Boo).
- One exception to the structure is Daniel Boone, whose article is structured almost entirely to the tune of his theme song.
Example: Pinky
{{Characters |title=Infobox Title; will default to {{PAGENAME}} |image=Characters with one image should just have the file name pasted here. Characters with multiple images will be given the gallery format: <gallery> Filename.png|Caption Filename2.png|Caption 2 </gallery> |caption= |fullname=Full Name |relationships=Important Relationships |tv_series=TV appearances |mini_series=Mini-Series appearances |movie=Film appearances |game=Video Game appearances |short=Short appearances |print=Print appearances |segment=Main Segment |firstep=First appearance |voiceactor=Main English VA |catchphrases=Catchphrases }} {{Quote|Quote!|Character}} '''Name''' is [character description: should at some point include media appearance (such as ''Animaniacs'' or ''Pinky and the Brain.''] ==Appearance== Physical appearance description. ==Personality== Personality description. ==History== ===Past=== Anything prior to their series appearance, should it be important, should be listed under "Past." ===Media=== Put their description from each series/film/etc appearance here. If a character is recurring, do not describe every appearance, just a general gist of the character. If a character is a one-off or barely appears, every appearance can be described if warranted. ==Appearances== Put the appearance templates here. We have the following: {{Appearances}} - for original series appearances {{AppearancesPATB}} - for PATB spinoff appearances (includes PEATB) {{AppearancesFilms}} - for film appearances {{AppearancesReboot}} - for reboot appearances Omit any templates that the character does not appear in. ==Quotes== * "Quotes in quotation marks here!" * '''Name:''' "If this is a dialogue, format it like this."<br>'''Name Two:''' "With followup here!" ==Voices== [character] was voiced in the '''original English''' by [actor]. [Any additional english actors should be added here] * Now list the other voice actors by alphabetical order of language ** Some countries have multiple dubs, separate them with these inward bullet points. ==Trivia== ===In-Universe=== * Trivia featured in-universe, in bullet points like this. ===General=== * Trivia out-of-universe, in bullet points like this. ==Gallery== <gallery> </gallery> ==Sources== {{reflist}} {{CharNav}} Categories go here: try to organize them alphabetically
Reference Guides For Episode and Character Pages
- Listed below are helpful reference guides that document the different pop-culture references and other miscellaneous bits of trivia for certain Animaniacs installments.
- General: Keeper's Cartoon Files- Website by Ron "Keeper1st" O'Dell containing information about various productions in the Animaniacs franchise.
- Animaniacs (Original Series): Suzanne Smiley's "Cultural References Guide for Animaniacs"
Contains two sections: "Fox Kids"-era episodes (1-69 and an Animaniacs 101 [Background] sub-section) and "Kids' WB!"-era episodes (70-99 and Wakko's Wish)
- Pinky and the Brain: Brian Norman's "Bunches of References Accumulated In a Nutshell" (B.R.A.I.N) reference guide (Episodes 1-39 and some Animaniacs-era PATB cartoons)

Episode Structures
- Please Note:
- For the soundtrack sections, the terms "Music" and "Soundtrack" are used interchangeably. For the references sections, the terms "References" and "Sources" are used interchangeably, but "References" is used more often.
- Use the <br clear=left/> command if the formatting between the "Plot" and "Crew" sections looks off.
- Pages for series finale episodes will have the phrase Goodbye, Nurse! at the bottom of the page. It is placed just above the {{Ep-nav}} template, and is formatted as such:
Original Series (1993-1998) Episode Structure
- Example: Episode 5: Taming of the Screwy
- Please Note: Certain title cards from some segments may sometimes be at a smaller size than the others to keep the article's structure in order. These segments are "A Very Special Opening", "Newsreel of the Stars", "Dot's Poetry Corner", Good Idea, Bad Idea; Mime Time, "Useless Facts", "Randy Beaman", and "Wheel of Morality".

Crew Articles Structures
- Please Note: Beginning in January 2022, the Animaniacs Wiki is cracking down on cast/crew members articles where the content is blatantly copied from websites such as Wikipedia. Info may be referenced from these other sites and rephrased, but we highly discourage just copying entire sections from those articles and pasting them into articles (unless it is a direct quote from somebody regarding an Animaniacs-related element).
