Brainstem is a song from the third episode of the Pinky and the Brain spin-off series. To the tune of "Camptown Races", Pinky and The Brain sing about the various parts of the brain itself. The beginning of the song is a slight parody of "Yakko’s World." The song was written by Tom Minton.

Later on into the show's run, the song is briefly reprised by Brain in "Brainwashed Part 1."

Trivia[]

  • A month before the show's premiere in 1995, several WB affiliates, including KWBP-32 in Portland, Oregon (now known as KRCW-TV) aired a different version of the song as a preview where Brain says "Now, let's get this show on the road. Roll 'em!" instead of "That oughta keep the little squirts happy. Yes!" at the end.[1] The variant was lost until May 17, 2023, when it was found by Peter Paltridge of PlatypusComix.[2]
