Trivia[]
- This episode has references to numerous famous noir films. For one, the opening shot of the Brain lying face down in the pool is taken right out of the beginning of 1950's Sunset Boulevard (said boulevard is also where Snowball's mansion is located). The plot involving water rights in the Los Angeles area is also in 1974's Chinatown. There is even a mention of Sam Spade, the protagonist of novel and film The Maltese Falcon. Additionally, Brain narrates the episode in a manner similar to noir films.
- At one point, Brain briefly states the name of the Animaniacs cartoon where Billie debuted: "The World Can Wait."
- Brain's line to Snowball "Get your hand off of me you damp, hairy hamster!" is a reference to a line from the 1968 film Planet of the Apes, which starred Snowball's voice actor Roddy McDowall.
