Plot[]
Touched by a sentimental soap opera, Pinky longs for a family reunion. When Brain overhears a talk show that awards the best family with a $25,000 prize, the exact amount he needs to fuel his world domination plan, he starts tracking down Pinky's potential family members.

- The title is a parody of the phrase, "The family that pays together, stays together."
- The talk show that announces the family prize, On the Air with Squeege and Kathie Glee, is a parody of long running syndicated show Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee.
- An instance of self-referential humor occurs when Brain seeks Pinky's Dad in the Warner Bros. Animation studio. He encounters (caricatures of) Tom Ruegger and Peter Hastings pitching to Steven Spielberg about a show, starring a lab mouse who wants to take over the world. Spielberg is less than impressed.
- Brain advises Pinky and the family to behave like a painting by Norman Rockwell. However, he compares the actual behavior of Pinky's family to a painting by Norman Bates.
- The "we'll win one for the Gipper!" line is a reference to football coach Knute Rockne's "Win just one for the Gipper" speech in honor of his former player George Gipp. US president Ronald Reagan would later portray Gipp in the 1941 film Knute Rockne, All American, and repurpose it for a political slogan.
