Jürgen Scratchansniff (also known as Brother) is the unstable mad-scientist twin brother of Dr. Scratchansniff who appears in the Animaniacs reboot cartoon "The Island of Dr. Warneau." Like his brother, he is voiced by Rob Paulsen.

Appearance

Jürgen resembles his brother when he had hair, but wears a purple suit and carries a Warner-themed walking stick.

Personality

Before his life took a downward spiral, Jürgen was a kind physician who shared a close-bond with his brother. As the distance between the two brothers grew due to Yakko, Wakko and Dot taking up Otto's time, Jürgen grew to become bitter and jealous. As he descended further into his genetic research, he became a tyrannical and rude mad-scientist.

History

Past

Growing up, Jürgen and Otto were very close, having attended the same college and even getting jobs at Warner Bros. Studios together (Jürgen was the on-set physician). Following Yakko, Wakko, and Dot's escape from the Water Tower,[note 1] the two begun to drift apart. Otto had to spend more time watching and treating the siblings, leaving Jürgen increasingly alone and deserted on his birthday parties. He eventually left the studio and retired to an island. Animaniacs (Reboot)

Put their description from each series/film/etc appearance here. If a character is recurring, do not describe every appearance, just a general gist of the character. If a character is a one-off or barely appears, every appearance can be described if warranted.

Trivia

General

  • Jürgen is perhaps an inversion of the reboot's long-criticized "Evil Scratchy" trope where Otto acts more malevolent to the siblings than he did in the original Animaniacs series; as he is an Otto-like character who acts evil to the siblings instead of Otto himself.

Notes

  1. As depicted in the original Animaniacs episode "De-Zanitized."
