Looney Tunes is a series of cartoons which are the backbone of Warner Bros. Since Looney Tunes and Animaniacs are owned by Warner Bros., it is not uncommon for Looney Tunes references to appear on the show. Animaniacs sister series and predecessor Tiny Toon Adventures is a spin-off of the series.

Animaniacs (Reboot)

  • A billboard featuring a bored Bugs for a reboot called Looney Tunes Again and another featuring zombified versions of Bugs, Daffy, and Porky entitled Looney Tunes Zombies appears in "Suspended Animation: Part Two" during the "Reboot It!" song. This is a reference to how the Looney Tunes franchise has been constantly rebooted.
  • Various Looney Tunes characters appear in "Suffragette City" as well as their descendants in Loonatics Unleashed, which the show makes fun of by having Dot refer to them as "whoever these guys are". Sylvester, Daffy and Porky each get speaking cameos. The song "Merrily We Roll Along" plays twice, and also closes out the cartoon with a variation of Porky Pig's "That's All, Folks!" gag with him saying "That's Democracy, Folks!".
  • Bugs Bunny was going to make a cameo in "Bun Control", but he was cut because the writers couldn't get it to work. [1]
  • In "Good Warner Hunting," the 'bedtime story' the Warners make Dr. Walter Grubb read to them refers to him as "a poor man's Elmer Fudd".
  • Daffy Duck appears in the episode "The Warners Are Present."
  • The episode "Yakko Amakko" is a take on the Merrie Melodies cartoon "Duck Amuck." Pepé Le Pew also makes an appearance, along with Daffy Duck's voice being used on Nora Rita Norita.

Animaniacs Appearances and References in Looney Tunes Media

  • In the 2004 documentary DVD featurette Looney Tunes: Back in Action - Behind the Tunes, Yakko, Wakko, Dot, Pinky, and the Brain appear on the old Warner Bros. Studio's Animation mural with other WB animated stars.
  • The Warner siblings appear in cameos in Space Jam: A New Legacy. They seem to appear in their original designs based on their model sheet, rather than their more angular redesigns based on the TMS episodes used for the reboot. This is also the first time they appear in CGI outside of video games.
    • A golden Dot statue can be seen in the background of one scene.
  • In the Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem July 2021 Space Jam promotional event, the Water Tower appears sporting a very similar design to how it looks in the Animaniacs reboot.
