Max is a streaming service owned by Warner Bros. Discovery (parent company of Warner Bros.), that is available in multiple territories; including the United States and Latin America. It first launched in the USA on May 23, 2023 and later in Latin America on February 27, 2024. The channel's launch is the result of Warner Bros. Discovery rebranding HBO Max by dropping the "HBO" from the name to reflect a more broad-content offering beyond the prestige of the "HBO" name. Content from Discovery's own streaming service Discovery+ is also included.

In Latin America, the channel serves as the streaming home of the Animaniacs Franchise (having taken over the role from HBO Max).

Trivia[]

  • As Hulu currently holds the exclusive streaming rights to the Animaniacs reboot in the United States (along with Disney+ for "bundle" subscribers); it is currently absent from the US-based Max line-up.
    • This also kept the entire Animaniacs franchise from streaming on their predecessor HBO Max in the United States while that channel was active (as Hulu held exclusive streaming rights to the entire franchise from 2018-2023).
  • For each Animaniacs-production, there are three language options for audio and subtitles: Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil) and English.
  • The 2024 LA launch had quite a few issues:
    • Only the first season of the 1993 Animaniacs series was available. The remaining 34 episodes were later added around late March - early April (they are organized the same way they were on HBO Max and the USA Netflix in four seasons).
    • The 1995 Pinky and the Brain series was placed under the Pinky, Elmyra and the Brain series branding, while the Elmyra episodes themselves seemed to have vanished. This problem was fixed by May 2024, with 1995 PATB restored under its normal branding and Elmyra regaining its own listing.
    • The 2020 Animaniacs reboot used a frame of Walter Wolf from the 1993 episode "Slappy Goes Walnuts" as its header image, a frame of the Warners from "Taming of the Screwy," and later a frame of Yakko from "Cutie and the Beast." These images are usually used as thumbnails for their respective episodes, and are likely part of a larger collection of promotional images for the franchise.
