"Mercury" is a song from the Pinky, Elmyra and the Brain cartoon "My Fair Brainy!." It is performed by Pinky (Rob Paulsen), Elmyra Duff (Cree Summer), and The Brain (Maurice LaMarche).

Description

Pinky sings this song to Elmyra to show Brain that she can learn Brain's space lesson, in a way she could understand: through song. As the song progresses, Elmyra sings along and Brain enthusiastically joins in as well.

Lyrics

Pinky:
Mercury is closest to the sun
Pinky and Elmyra:
Mercury is closest to the sun
The Brain:
Once again?
Elmyra:
Mercury is closest to the sun
The Brain:
I think she has it, I think she has it!
Elmyra:
Jupiter is mostly hydrogen
The Brain:
By heavens, she has it!
Which world is hidden by mist?
Elmyra:
Venus, Venus!
The Brain:
And which is the planet of our birth?
Elmyra:
The Earth, the Earth!
Mars is red, and has two tiny moons
The Brain:
Phobos and Deimos!
Elmyra:
Uranus is gaseous just like Neptune!
The Brain:
Which world has rings that turn?
Elmyra:
Saturn, Saturn!
The Brain:
And the farthest world we know?
Elmyra:
Pluto, Pluto!
Pinky, Elmyra and the Brain:
Mercury is closest to the sun!
Hot enough to cook your lunch well done!
Cha-cha-cha!
