Michigan J. Frog is an animated cartoon character who debuted in the Merrie Melodies cartoon One Froggy Evening (December 31, 1955), written by Michael Maltese and directed by Chuck Jones.
He makes numerous cameo appearances in the Animaniacs franchise. One prominent example occurs "Night of the Living Buttons," scaring Mindy and Buttons, most likely as a potshot to The WB Network.

- The frog is referenced in both of Minerva Mink's cartoons- "Meet Minerva" and "Moon Over Minerva."
- Michigan was the mascot of The WB Network (including Kids' WB!). He served as the mascot for the main network from 1995-2005 (He still continued making appearances through local affiliates’ branding and through Kids WB!).
- Michigan often appeared alongside Yakko, Wakko, and Dot in promos for Kids WB!; and even performed some songs with them including "Put A Brain In The White House".
- The Frog made a comeback for 2006’s The Night of Favorites and Farewells, where he was shown in various "Watch The Frog" promos interacting with the stars of various WB shows such as Smallville. Notably, his ghostly silhouette bowing down to viewers was the network's final broadcast to signify the fall of The WB Network and the rise of The CW Television Network.
