Ten Short Films About Wakko Warner/No Time for Love/The Boo Network is the 89th episode of the original Animaniacs, as the 7th episode of the show's 4th season.
A documentarian presents ten short films documenting events in the life of Wakko Warner.
1. "Lunch With Steven"
Wakko has lunch with Steven Spielberg, who doesn't make an appearance but instead speaks though a intercom.
2. "Volunteerism"
Wakko volunteers at Nanaland Retirement Home, allowing the residents to pet him like a cat.
3. "Wakko Plays Golf with Benny Hill"
Wakko and Benny Hill engage in golf-themed slapstick before chasing after Hello Nurse and Hill's co-star Henry McGee. A parody of the Benny Hill theme "Yakety Sax" plays in the background.
4. "Alone Time"
Wakko takes a nap on a worn-out couch.
5. "My Dinner with Wakko"
Wakko eats dinner with Dr. Scratchansniff at a fancy restaurant. The Doctor tells Wakko about his visit to the Mayan ruins, which Wakko finds less than interesting.
Dr. Scratchansniff's sculpture of bread and mashed potatoes may be a reference to Spielberg's film Close Encounters of the Third Kind, in which aliens compel the main character to build a sculpture of a mesa.
6. "Rehearsing with Martha Graham"
Wakko consults dancer Martha Graham in preparation for an upcoming cartoon. He finds her advice unhelpful.
7. "Staring at the Camera"
Wakko stares at the camera for about ten seconds.
8. "A Big Duet"
Wakko sings a duet version of "Pop Goes the Weasel" with Frank Sinatra.
9. "The Dollar Store"
Wakko visits a large dollar store and annoys the cashier by repeatedly asking how much items cost. When the cashier tells him that everything costs a dollar, Wakko buys everything in the store for just one dollar.
10. "That's Enough of That"
Wakko tires of the documentary crew following him around and filming. When he asks them to leave, the director assumes Wakko is joking and continues shooting. In the end, Wakko smashes the camera with his mallet and the episode ends with "FIN."
This series of shorts serves as another example of Yakko and Dot not appearing in their own series, like Ups and Downs.
This is the second Warners segment in the series to not feature Yakko and Dot, the first seen on Ups and Downs.
The engineer in "A Big Duet" is a caricature of the show's recording engineer Harry Andronis. The conductor is a caricature of the show's composer Richard Stone.
The ending scene of "Rehearsing with Martha Graham" was cut out from the Nicktoons version of this episode.
Wakko literally breaks the 4th wall as he smashes the camera with his mallet.
In this miscellaneous cartoon, a cuckoo clock bird falls in love with a real canary and tries to get around the fact that he's bolted to the clock to be with her.
Thaddeus Plotz hires Chicken Boo as the new head of programming for the WB Network. Network exec Mr. Johnson remains skeptical due to the fact that Boo is a chicken.
