Noah's Lark

Plot

The Hip Hippos pester Noah on his ark, while believing it to be a cruise ship.

Trivia

  • Noah's look, speech and mannerisms are a caricature of comedian Richard Lewis. In an interview with The Nostalgia Critic, the writers admitted that Lewis was jokingly critical towards this impersonation. His agent called the show's staff to say that while they had found the cartoon "very funny", they requested that the crew try not to steal all of his material next time.
  • When Noah asks what is an ark, Indiana Jones appears to explain the Ark of the Covenant, as well as giving away the ending to Raiders of the Lost Ark. The Indiana Jones films were directed by series producer Steven Spielberg.
  • The comparison Indiana Jones makes to Noah's ark is accurate. Ark is Hebrew for "box" or "chest", not "ship".
  • When Indiana Jones is being chased away by Hovito Indians (Bushmen), the music is an instrumental version of the theme song to Taz-Mania! ("Down in Tazmania")
  • Buster and Babs Bunny (no relation) from Tiny Toon Adventures make a cameo appearance, as does the Wolverine from the same show. Pinky and the Brain also appear. The Warners also make a cameo at the end. Squit plays the role of the dove who brings back the olive tree leaf.
  • The narrator is voiced by Ernie Anderson, who was best known for his time as announcer for the ABC network. He even parodies the way he announces "The Love Boat" as "the looooooooooove ark."
    • Noah also says, "Where's Gavin MacLeod when you need him?" MacLeod played Captain Stubing on The Love Boat.

Plot

Wakko complains he's got something in his eye.
Dot sees that the next cartoon is in his eye.

The Big Kiss

Animation by Akom

33-3-TheBigKiss

Plot

In perhaps his most convincing disguise yet, Chicken Boo poses as the "sexiest actor in Hollywood" (Goodnight everybody!) filming a major kiss scene with an actress who resembles Hello Nurse.

Crew

Trivia

  • This short introduces a new introductory sequence. It begins the same way the original did, with Chicken Boo roosting in the barnyard, but instead of the Brady Bunch-style collage of his disguises, he simply looks at his disguises in a mirror. The "Chicken Boo Theme" itself is mostly unchanged.
  • The Warners and Ralph continue their literal running gag outside the soundstage.
  • In a nod to Alfred Hitchcock Presents, the show's theme song "Funeral March of a Marionette" can be heard during some of the director Clive's scenes.

Wakko complains of a toothache, and Yakko
sees that the next cartoon is in Wakko's mouth.

Hiccup

Animation by Wang Film Production

33-4-Hiccup

Plot

Squit has a bad case of the hiccups after eating a bread crumb, so Pesto and Bobby attempt to get rid of them.

Crew

  • Written by Deanna Oliver
  • Directed by Greg Reyna and Dave Marshall

Trivia

  • During the beginning of the short, caricatures of Dustin Hoffman (from Marathon Man), David Letterman, Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci, and Daniel Stern from Home Alone 2: Lost in New York can be spotted.
  • After mistakenly thinks he's been cured, Squit calls Pesto "Doc", which is often a diminutive form of "doctor", but Pesto, being the short-tempered guy he is, mistakenly believes he's referring to one of the Seven Dwarfs.
  • In the end, Squit says the three are like The Three Musketeers, but due to the reference Pesto makes to The Mickey Mouse Club, he confuses it for "mouseketeers".
  • The synopsis for this episode on Hulu erroneously identifies Pesto as the one with hiccups.
  • The duodenum is actually the part of the small intestine that connects to the stomach.
  • There is actually no common cure for the hiccups, except patience.

Cartoons in Wakko's Body Conclusion

Animation by StarToons

Cartoon in Wakko's Body

Plot

Yakko and Dot do their presentation to the press on Wakko's pains recapping what happened to him throughout the entire episode. After asking him how he feels, Wakko replies that his bottom hurts. Yakko simply looks at the camera and says, "Mwah, goodnight, everybody!"

Trivia

  • Despite doing all the linking segments, StarToons is unbilled for their work.
