Please Bop Me, Brain is a song from the Pinky and the Brain cartoon "You'll Never Eat Food Pellets In This Town Again." The song is performed by The Brain (Maurice LaMarche) and Pinky (Rob Paulsen), and is a parody of Sonny & Cher's "I Got You Babe."

Description[]

After Pinky and Brain quit their show due to network executive Sandy Dreckman meddling with it, the duo's agent Nifty Bizarre books them a variety show entitled The Pinky and the Brain Variety Hour, a parody of The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour. The duo's ill-fated variety outing begins with the "Please Bop Me, Brain" song, where Brain attempts to sing his desires to deliver laughter to the people while Pinky expresses a desire for Brain to bop him on the head. Shortly after the song and some scripted bickering between the duo, the program is swiftly cancelled for low ratings.

Lyrics[]

The Brain:
I used to want to rule the Earth
But now I'm happy bringing people mirth!
Pinky:
I've no idea what you just said
But would you like to bop me on the head?
[bop]--NARF!
Please bop me, Brain!
[bop]--NARF!
Please bop me, Brain!
[bop]--NARF!
Please bop me, Brain!
Pinky:
Please bop me...
Brain!!!
The Brain:
I'll bop you...
Pinky!!!

Trivia[]

  • This musical number actually caused the episode to be delayed from its initial February 7, 1998 airdate. This was due to sensitivity surrounding the references to the late Sonny Bono, who had died a month prior to the episode's original scheduled airdate.[1] [2] The episode would later air on April 25, 1998.
