Slappy Squirrel (also known as Slappy and Skippy) is a segment that features Slappy Squirrel, a grumpy veteran cartoon squirrel, and Skippy Squirrel, her chipper, happy nephew.

Description

The retired cartoon star Slappy Squirrel lives with her nephew, Skippy, and embarks on wild adventures with him (usually). Slappy often faces may foes from her past, like Walter Wolf, Sid the Squid and Beanie the Brain-Dead Bison. A typical problem or minor inconvenience in each segment is solved with exaggerated cartoon violence to help the squirrels.

Trivia

• Slappy Squirrel is the largest non-Warners segment in the original series, with 29 shorts (surpassed overall by the minor recurring Good Idea, Bad Idea segment, which has 30 cartoons).
• Much of Slappy's cartoons were animated by StarToons.
• Until 2023, there were no Slappy Squirrel segments in the 2020 Animaniacs reboot. The reason was most likely due to the focus on the Warner siblings and Pinky and the Brain.
• In the original Animaniacs, season 2 is the only season to not have any Slappy cartoons.
