StarToons International, LLC. was a Chicago-based animation studio that was founded in October 1988 by Jon McClenahan. They worked on many of the segments on the original Animaniacs, and were especially synonymous with Slappy Squirrel's cartoons.

After the first season wrapped-up, Fox Kids didn't order any new episodes of Animaniacs for the 1994/95 season, as all Warner Bros. material was headed to the then-upcoming Kids' WB! block. As a result, there was no longer any material for the studio to animate for a time, and McClenahan could no longer afford to keep paying a full staff. Some of his staff including Spike Brandt, Tony Cervone, Kirk Tingblad, and Jeff Siergey left to go work for WB itself; while McClenahan assembled a new crew as the studio was brought back in-order.

From 1994-1996, most of StarToons' involvement with Animaniacs consisted of storyboarding cartoons animated by Wang (including one episode of the Pinky and the Brain spin-off series). By 1996, they were ready to animate again, and contributed a few episodes to the final season of Animaniacs.[1]

StarToons filed for bankruptcy in 2001 and shut down shortly after.[2]
