Super7 is a San Francisco-based toy company founded in 2001. They manufacture pop-culture and lifestyle-oriented collectibles, toys and apparel.

Animaniacs ULTIMATES!

In December 2021, Super7 announced that they would be releasing a line of Animaniacs figures under their "ULTIMATES!" toyline. The announcement was initially teased on December 3rd[1] and later fully revealed on December 8th[2]. The line goes off-of original series aesthetics rather than the concurrently-airing reboot (one of Pinky's accessories however, appears to reference a reboot cartoon). Presumably, this was done to appeal to older fans, much like other brands Super7 has the license to.

Wave 1

Wave 1 consists of Yakko, Wakko, Dot, Pinky and the Brain. Most of their poses and facial expressions are predominantly based off of model sheet/promotional art from the original series and much of their accessories are episode-specific references. Each figure costs $55.00 USD. The entire set bundled together costs $275.00 USD. The figures, though praised for their high-quality detail and different accessories; were criticized for their expensive prices on social media when they were first announced.

One year after announcement, the figures were announced to have left the factory and released in January 2023.[3]

Episode-Specific Accessory References

Much of the accessories that come with the figurines reference episodes from the original Animaniacs and the Pinky and the Brain spin-off series. One of Pinky's accessories (a grappling hook) appears to be a possible reboot reference.

Animaniacs ReAction Figures

On September 20, 2022, listings for Animaniacs-themed figures in Super7's "ReAction" figures line were discovered on the website BigBadToyStore in September 2022.[4]

Wave 1

Wave 1 was released in January 2023, and consists of the Warner siblings and Dr. Scratchansniff. Notably, the models used for the the Warner siblings' figures do not appear to be sourced from any official assets, but rather fan-made models by Markus Haertel (Dr. Scratchansniff's figure however, is inspired by one of his model sheet poses). Additionally, the art of Wakko on the back of the boxes is traced from fan-art of an "Evil Wakko" by DeviantArt user icelion87 (this art has also been used on other products by WB).

Description

Trivia

  • Super7's Animaniacs "ULTIMATES!" line marks one of the first times where specific episodes of Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain are referenced in toy form.
  • With the labeling of the "ULTIMATES!" and "ReAction" toys under "Wave 1"; it’s unknown if additional waves with more characters are on the way or not.
  • Despite the Water Tower and the WB studio lot being utilized in some promos, there doesn't appear to be a Super7 Water Tower toy or WB studio lot playset available as of December 2021.
  • The shipping costs for the "ULTIMATES!" Wave 1 toys were initially above $100 USD, but was brought down to $15 USD a few hours after pre-orders went live.
