Tweety Bird (also known as Tweety Pie or simply Tweety) is a canary from the Warner Bros. Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series of animated cartoons. The name "Tweety" is a play on words, as it originally meant "sweetie", along with "tweet" being a typical English onomatopoeia for the sounds of birds. His characteristics are based on Red Skelton's famous "Mean Widdle Kid." Tweety appeared in 49 cartoons in the Golden Age of American animation.
Tweety has made a handful of cameo appearances in Animaniacs; he is mentioned in the song "I Am the Very Model of a Cartoon Individual" from "H.M.S. Yakko" and appears in a picture, had a quick cameo in the Slappy Squirrel short "Scare Happy Slappy," made a guest appearance in "The Warners' 65th Anniversary Special," and makes a cameo in "The Big Wrap Party Tonight." In the Animaniacs reboot, he made a couple of cameos in the song "Suffragette City" and is mentioned in one verse.
